Key soft skills for cross-sectoral youth outcomes

Despite growing interest in this topic, however, there is no clear consensus about which soft skills are likely to produce the most significant benefit to youth and to what extent these skills are similar or different across key outcome areas. This report identifies the core soft skills that would create positive outcomes across important areas of youth’s lives, including workforce success, violence prevention, and sexual and reproductive health (SRH).

This toolkit highlights recent innovations and suggests strategies for strengthening apprenticeships in the fast-changing world of work. Considering technological advances, digitalization, and the growing importance of digital skills, it offers over 20 digital tools that can play an integral part in delivering, monitoring, and evaluating apprenticeship programs.

TVET for a Green Economy

The report recommends improving the coherence between national sustainability strategies and policies and TVET by developing green vocational training strategies and increasing the private sector's participation within this process. Furthermore, environmental protection, resource efficiency, and renewable energies should be anchored in curricula on the level of vocational training and continuing education, supporting the process with human resource measurements and greening TVET institutions.
